Burgoyne’s offers an eclectic seasonal menu that draws from the finest local produce. Or, do you simply meander up the oak staircase to find peaceful slumber in one of the 7 bespoke bedrooms with en suite facilities, several featuring the luxury of a four-poster bed.

The Ox, as she is affectionately known, has been carefully and sympathetically modernised to ensure the perfect blend of historical feature and sublime comfort. So whether you are dropping in for a pint; looking for a romantic hide-away for your honeymoon; craving a memorable dinner; hosting a business meeting or seeking an hour or two of pure self indulgence in the newly created Green Room beauty therapy centre, you will receive a warm welcome and experience unobtrusive but attentive service that is second to none. Climbing the oak staircase, you encounter an array of choice. The Ox benefits from seven beautifully proportioned bedrooms, all with en suite facilities. Named after our rare breed animals, no two rooms are alike and three feature the splendour and comfort of a four-poster bed. 

This award-winning restaurant is set within the Great Hall. Steeped in atmosphere and featuring an enormous granite fireplace with roaring fire in colder months, mullioned windows and oak beams you cannot fail to be impressed by your surroundings. But that is just a part of the story. Take your seat and prepare to be equally amazed by the menu put before you.

Burgoynes Restaurant
At The Ox and within Burgoynes, we prefer passion to pretension and our chefs are dedicated to producing wonderful food, beautifully cooked and stylishly presented. The menus, which change on a daily basis, are designed around the finest seasonal produce available. Whenever possible we source our meat, vegetables and fruit from our own farm; our fish and seafood direct from the Devon coast; and our game from local shoots.

Rooms
Decorated in bespoke fashion combining treasured antiques with modern comfort, you cannot fail to be enveloped by the luxury afforded to you by freshly pressed Egyptian cotton sheets, bed throws using wool from our Hebridean sheep, large fluffy bath towels and sensuous bath products.
