The Cricket Inn first opened its doors in 1867 and is located within the small fishing village of Beesands nestled within the idyllic South Hams countryside overlooking the sloping shingle beach of Start Bay on one of the most southerly points in the UK. 

The Cricket is a welcome gathering place for both tourist and locals alike all year round, the local fisherman working and retired come to the Inn for a relaxing pint and entertain visitors with stories of fishing, storms and how it used to be in the 'Good Old Days' you may need a translator to help you understand the South Devon accent but its good fun anyway. The Inn was recently refurbished but still retains its old charm with endless black and white photographs of village life from yester year. 

The Cricket offers local Ales good wines and a fabulous menu with customers returning time after time to sample the fresh fish and locally reared meats. The inn has seating for approximately 70 people in the main bar / restaurant area with the Pavilion dining area to the side which is ideal for larger family groups plus small private functions, we have dog friendly tables in the bar area so if booking a table then let us know you want to bring Rover, outside there is seating for over 100 where we serve a full menu weather permitting.

Catch of the Day
The Cricket Inn is renowned for its fresh fish and seafood we can almost guarantee that any Crab Lobster or Scallops will be caught just off our shore. But our menu is varied including Steaks, Homemade Pies, Salads and Sandwiches please look at our sample menus below but please note the menu almost changes daily because of seasonal catches.

All double beds are 5 ft with pocket-sprung mattresses

During low season, the Cricket Inn is closed between 3.00p.m. and 6.00 p.m. So if check-in, is required during these times, then please inform us. 

Check-in, is from 2.00 p.m. (Sometimes earlier depending on occupancy, Check- out is strictly 11.00 a.m.)
