Red Doors Farm in Devon, exceptional Self Catering Holiday Cottages, forms an enchanting private hamlet nestling within the Blackdown Hills, an easily accessible and idyllic location superb for walking, golf and riding or just a peaceful and relaxing break. The Jurassic coast - with its combination of fossil hunting and sandy beaches, Dartmoor and Exmoor, the Eden project and many National Trust Properties are all within easy reach. Red Doors Farm is perfect for couples and family holidays and those who wish for a relaxing hideaway retreat. We have 6 cottages sleeping between 2 - 8 guests + cots. Luxury accommodation furnished to an extremely high standard and graded 5* by Enjoy England.

The Cottages

Set in one acre of gardens, Red Doors is perfect for family holidays or for couples looking for a relaxing hideaway. We have 6 cottages sleeping between 2 to 8 guests. Dogs are accepted by prior arrangement.

Our two special one bedroom properties are set away from the larger cottages, affording peace and privacy for our guests. They are the perfect romantic retreat, whatever the occasion.

Properties for Families

The Farmhouse (sleeps 8 + cot)

A charming and delightful thatched 500 year old Grade 2* listed Devon long house of stone and cob with original beams, oak panelling and flagstone floor. The property has been renovated to provide superb accommodation for the larger family. Dining hall, kitchen with feature bread oven and Aga (+electric oven) and breakfast table. Large drawing room with Inglenook Fireplace. First floor: 4 bedrooms (2 double, 2 twin). Shower room with WC. Bathroom with WC, whirlpool bath with power shower over.

Cider Barn (sleeps 5 + cot)

Detached thatched cottage converted from the barn that used to house the farm cider press. Large kitchen/dining room. Sitting room with beamed ceiling and French windows opening onto lawn. First floor: Two double bedrooms, the double having magnificent uninterrupted views over Dumpdon Hill, (1 double, 1 with 3 single beds). Bathroom with WC.

Orchard Cottage (sleeps 6 + cot)

Detached stone cottage with private garden. Entrance hall. Three bedrooms (1 double, 2 twin). Bathroom/WC. Separate WC. First floor: Large open plan sitting/dining room with log burning stove and fully fitted kitchen area. French windows onto balcony overlooking countryside.

Byre Cottage (sleeps 6 + cot)

A thatched, stone and cob cottage complete with climbing roses and clematis, adjoining the main farmhouse. Entrance hall, kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with beamed ceiling, original oak shutters and log burner. Shower room with WC. First floor : Three bedrooms ( 1 double, 2 twin ). Bathroom with WC.

Properties for Couples

Holly Cottage (sleeps 2 + cot)

Tucked in the furthermost corner of the property, Holly cottage is converted from a single storey stone barn, a traditional country cottage in keeping with its original features. Sitting room with Inglenook and log burner. Kitchen/dining area with bespoke wooden kitchen. Bedroom with king-size bed. Ensuite bathroom with whirlpool bath and power shower. Lawned garden with delightful countryside views.

Swallows Loft (sleeps 2 + cot)

A first floor apartment converted from an old stone barn with a traditional feel and a contemporary twist. The accommodation comprises of a large sitting/dining room with leather sofas and a cosy log burner. Raised bespoke kitchen concealed by oak screen made from reclaimed Cider vats. Stairs up to bedroom with four poster bed and stargazing windows. Sumptuous bathroom with whirlpool bath and large separate shower. Stairs down to shared large patio garden and terrace.

Swimming Pool

Discreetly tucked away in a corner of the garden is the luxurious, ozone-treated, 36' x 18' indoor swimming pool. It is heated to 30 degrees Centigrade and has a maximum depth of 2 metres. There are full changing facilities including a shower and WC.

Garden

Our one acre of English cottage gardens are a joy to laze around in with hardwood garden furniture for all cottages. The garden also features a croquet and putting lawn, children’s play areas with swings, slide and play house, giant garden games and giant trampoline, giant chess and children's ride on toys.

Games Room and Indoor Play Area

The games room houses a pool table, tourist information, our extensive DVD and PS2 games collection and also includes a new play room ideal for children up to the age of 6 with many activities ranging from play kitchen, train and farm tables, cars and garages, colouring in and a baby area with soft toys.

Covered Play Area

ideal for the under 6's - an area with play house and small climbing frames, see saw and slides complete with safety rubber matting. Also ride-on toys, go-carts and a giant trampoline.

Focusing on providing a Personal Chef Service to customers who do not wish to eat out, which means he comes and cooks in your own kitchen. Shopping, cooking and cleaning is all taken care of and special attention is paid to using the best local ingredients and suppliers.
