Longcombe Farm Cottages are set among the gently rolling hills of the beautiful Longcombe Valley which follows the course of the River Dart to Stoke Gabriel. We are two miles from the bustling medieval market town of Totnes which sits astride the river and offers a wealth of small shops, superb, locally sourced food and great places to eat, not to mention river trips and a castle. The smaller town of Dartington, known for the famous glass and as a haunt of artists and writers, is within three miles while the busier resort of Torbay with its beaches, Zoo and resort attractions sits five minutes in the other direction. The vast open spaces of Dartmoor are less than half an hour away making this a perfect location whatever your holiday expectations.

We take great pride in providing a memorable holiday experience for our guests and many return regularly. Because we live on site, should any problems arise you can call on us to resolve them. We are open all year round and offer cosy winter weekends or short breaks in the low season and full weeks or longer in the busier months. We are full at most times of the year and early booking for peak periods is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Our cottages are set around an original farmyard and consist of the old farm house and various barn conversions, all with individual, outdoor space for eating. The properties retain a wealth of original features, some have four poster beds and all are a careful blend of traditional features and modern conveniences making them a home from home for our guests. We accommodate from 2- 8 people and most cottages can have a cot or Z bed added. We are an ideal layout for family holidays and celebrations where several cottages together can sleep up to 26 people. One well behaved dog is welcome in some cottages and we have one ground floor apartment with wheel chair accessibility.

The onsite facilities at Longcombe are a feature that brings visitors back year on year. The chlorine free indoor pool is warm all year round. It has integral shower rooms for changing and also a sauna which makes it a pleasurable experience even in cold weather. Outdoors, the full size, hard tennis court (rackets and balls provided free) and the grassed play areas with climbing net, swings and trampoline offers something for everyone. We mustn’t forget to mention the indoor games room which has a selection of toys for tots, board games, video player with a selection of videos and also a coin operated pool table. A laundry room offers you the easy option for family laundry.

Attractions

There are so many things to do in the area that it’s impossible to list them all. Just to mention a few: Dartington Steam Train, Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts, Woodlands Adventure, Dartmouth Castle, Arts and Craft Studios, and 14 beaches within half an hour, (including the Blue Flag Blackpool Sands.) • There is a wireless internet connection available for all cottages however some of the stone walls are too thick to be able to pick it up effectively from inside the cottage. Your outside table and the games room are good alternatives.
