Headlands Hotel

Headlands is a family-run, twelve bedroom hotel in a glorious setting overlooking Woolacombe Bay, North Devon. Built in the 1930's, the hotel is the ideal place to spend your holiday.

The surrounding sand dunes, fields and cliff tops are owned by The National Trust and the hotel commands stunning views out to sea and inland across the rolling countryside. Whether you are coming to North Devon to sample our world-class beaches, to walk along the coastal path, play golf or just relax; whether you are planning to stay for one night or a fortnight, the Headlands Hotel is the perfect location.

The Bedrooms
Each of Headlands' twelve bedrooms are of a high standard and comfortably furnished. Most are ensuite, with family and ground floor rooms available. All rooms are non-smoking and cleaned to the exceptional standards that you would expect from any privately-run hotel.

Many of the rooms have the added benefit of marvelous views of Woolacombe Bay, Baggy Point and the Devonshire hills beyond. On a clear day you can even see out across the first few miles of the Atlantic to Lundy Island.

The Restaurant
The hotel restaurant has a warm and pleasant ambience with views of the Atlantic rollers crashing onto the beach down in the bay to be enjoyed whilst eating. Menus change on a daily basis, but we always offer a selection of freshly-prepared homemade and continental dishes using local produce wherever possible.

Your meal can be accompanied by a bottle of wine from our selection or by a drink from the bar. We can cater for all special dietary needs, but please let us know of any requirements at the time of booking.

Sea Views
There can be few finer views of Woolacombe Bay and the Atlantic Ocean stretching away from it than that from the front bedrooms and balcony of Headlands Hotel. From its position just above the main village itself, we have a stunning view across the valley to the National Trust owned hills on the far side.

To the right the valley drops away to the village itself and the Woolacombe end of the Bay. The main beach reaches away from us, finishing (just out of sight behind the san dunes) at Putsborough. From there, the steep cliffs of Baggy Point reach out to sea.

As if this is not enough, the lighthouse at Hartland Point can often be seen signaling to the ships in the channel and, on a clear day, Lundy Island sits proudly on the horizon, the last land before the Atlantic Ocean begins in earnest.
