Wedding Venue
The Fox & Hounds has been the ideal place to hold civil ceremonies and wedding receptions for many years, our experience and knowledge helps to ensure that your wedding day runs perfectly, every endeavour is made on our part to give you the wedding you want and make the organisation as stress free as possible, allowing you to relax and enjoy your big day. We ensure that there is only one wedding per day to ensure that you receive personal attention throughout your time with us.

The beautiful garden and grounds create an idyllic setting for your Wedding and our newly refurbished rooms, bar and restaurant creates a beautiful atmosphere for your guests to enjoy themselves in. The Hotel is licensed for civil ceremonies, whereby arrangements can be made for the registrar to come to the hotel on your wedding day and perform the ceremony as it would happen in a registry office, before moving on to the reception celebrations.

Our restaurant with French windows onto the terrace and rear garden is able to accommodate up to 120 people for formal dining and buffet arrangements. For evening receptions we are able to accommodate for up to 350 guests. For larger parties we also have our Marquee available for hire, which is perfectly positioned on the lawn below the terrace.

As part of the wedding package we can supply a variety of extras and are as flexible as possible in meeting your needs. For the reception entertainment we have our own very popular DJ, or can recommend and book a live band, alternatively the entertainment can be left in your hands. Added decorations whether it be from simple flora table arrangements to balloon designs, or even an evening firework display are all finishing touches that we can help arrange drawing on our years of experience and contacts.

Rooms 
The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel has 16 beautifully decorated bedrooms, including one family room with ensuite bathroom and sitting room. All rooms are individually furnished with luxurious antique furniture, creating an individual relaxed atmosphere to make your stay memorable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and all are ensuite, have tea/coffee making facilities and colour television.

Our daily Bed and Breakfast rate includes full English breakfast. Children sharing with adults are 1/2 price. We also offer discounted rates for 3 day & weekly breaks. Tariffs

EXCELLENT FOOD
Quality local meat and fish make up our delicious meals, with bar snacks available. You can enjoy eating in our large relaxed bar dining area or our stylish restaurant that overlooks the beautiful gardens and grounds. Lunches and evening meals are served daily. Traditional roast lunches are available every Sunday.

COUNTRY PURSUITS

Fishing
Set in beautiful country surroundings, the Fox & Hounds offers country sports to interest you. The hotel is situated alongside the picturesque River Taw, offering peace and tranquillity, with access to 4 miles of salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing. We have 4 beats available, each up to a mile in length and comfortably taking two rods. We do Special 3 Day Fishing Breaks for £165, this includes 3 nights staying at the hotel with a traditional English breakfast and 3 days fishing the River Taw. We offer a ghillie service and fly fishing tuition. Fly rods and waders can be hired from the hotel. We hold a good stock of hand tied flies.
 
Shooting
We can offer Seasonal Rough Shooting for pheasant, partridge and woodcock. The shoot consists of between six and eight drives over approx 600 acres of farmland and forestry, giving challenging shooting in typical Devon countryside. This shoot can accommodate up to 10 guns. All guns must have a shotgun certificate and be a member of BASC or similar. Secure gun storage facilities are provided. Dogs are welcome.
