Browns Hotel is a lovingly-restored 17th century coaching inn set in the heart of the beautiful Dartmoor town of Tavistock. Restaurant

The Browns Hotel team, twice winners of the South West Chef of the Year award, have a real passion and flair for producing fine dishes which balance tradition and innovation. Our relaxed, convivial restaurant, offers full a la carte and sample menus, which take advantage of a wealth of high quality, seasonal ingredients sourced from Devon's many small-scale producers. As well as catering to guests, the restaurant is a popular destination for local residents.

Browns Hotel offers a distinctive conference facility for companies and organisations seeking comfort, character, flexibility and something just a little bit out of the ordinary, whether for meetings, product launches, cocktail receptions or private events. Fully equipped with all audio-visual and internet requirements, the hotel's three meeting rooms can accommodate numbers ranging from two to eighty-five people, with preferential daily and residential rates for parties of six or more. Our dedicated Events Team will consult with you to create an occasion tailor-made to your needs, including a full range of dining, drinks and refreshment options.

Superior Townhouse Room

These are our most spacious rooms in the house, they are equipped with all of the facilities of the standard rooms, however they offer Queen Size beds in addition to a desk area, writing table, coffee table, arm chair and a comfortable sofa for relaxing and unwinding.

Superior Mews Room

• With natural stone walls, exposed wooden roof timbers, Victorian slate windowsills, and views out over our private courtyard, these double rooms blend traditional charm with a calm and quiet touch of contemporary style.

Four Poster Room

• This spacious, romantic room features a sumptuous king-sized four poster bed with antique oak end

• The Executive Room is one of the finest rooms here at Browns Hotel

Superior Family Room

• The superior family room comprises of a main spacious bedroom with a Queen Size luxury double bed and a spacious triple wardrobe.

Standard Family Room

• The Standard Family room provides comfortable sleeping for 2 adults and 2 children

Standard Double Room

• Stylish, well-appointed, elegantly finished rooms, with double bed, dressing table/writing desk, coffee table, armchair and all the usual Browns Hotel refinements.

Standard Small Double Room

• A snug bedroom on the front of the house with lovely petite bedrooms. All with a natural chic style, they are tastefully decorated and finished to a high standard.

Standard Twin Room

• Tastefully designed, well-appointed rooms finished in soft neutral tones, with two single beds.

Superior Single Room

• These are our more spacious single rooms, they are equipped with all of the facilities of the standard single rooms, however have a standard double 4ft x 6ft bed.

Standard Single Room

• This small standard room will suit most budgets, tastefully decorated in natural tones with matching soft furnishings and finished to a high standard.

A five million pound refurbishment turned the property into a boutique hotel, with the award winning market town of Tavistock on the doorstep, and, just beyond rolling hills and breathtaking landscape of Dartmoor.
